Presence detection¶
- Decided: Steinel IR Quattro MICRO, KNX variant (360° PIR, flush ceiling mount, IP65) — suggested by the contractor, confirmed. For circulation and wet zones (corridors, stairs, hallways, toilets/bathrooms, dressing rooms, laundry, parking).
- Sit-still rooms (Pavel's office, Ekaterina's office, living room, bedrooms): TBD. PIR insufficient there — mmWave/HF presence detection needed. Candidates:
- Steinel True Presence KNX — flush (concealed) version, small Ø46 mm dome visible; bus-native; Multisensor variant adds temp/humidity/CO₂/VOC; ~€250–300/unit; IP20 (not for wet rooms). Surface puck version rejected on design grounds.
- HA-side mmWave on Cat6 drops — Apollo R PRO-1 (PoE, ESPHome), Everything Presence One/Lite (USB-C + PoE splitter, ESPHome), Aqara FP2 (Wi-Fi, zone mapping; app-based setup). ~€40–85/unit; can be fully hidden (in joinery / behind plasterboard — must be tested in place before ceiling closes); presence logic depends on HA.
- Mini 24 GHz KNX radar sensors (e.g. Creatrol Mini, Ø35 mm cutout) — right form factor, but young manufacturers; ETS app must be bench-validated before committing.
- Mounting True Presence above/behind the finished ceiling: rejected (blinds its light/air sensors, unpredictable attenuation, outside manufacturer spec).
- Coverage note (IR Quattro MICRO): 6×6 m tangential / 4×4 m presence per unit, mounting height 2.5–4 m — larger rooms may need multiple units; per-room count TBD with the lighting plan.
- Cabling note: where hidden HA-side sensors are considered, the Cat6 drop must terminate in the ceiling void / joinery position, not at a wall plate.
