Brand decided: Jung. Room-by-room switch plan: positions.

Operating concept

Decided: three tiers.

F 50 room controllers

Current gen: LS 5292 D 1ST 2-gang / LS 5294 D 1ST 4-gang, Secure; predecessor KRM TS D is discontinued. Per-room thermostats + manual climate control + complex-scene buttons in every climate room.

  • Physical layout (verified, Jung install sheet): full-height central display flanked by two button columns — 2-gang = 2 bar buttons per side (4 total), 4-gang = 4 per side (8 total); one or two functions per button, buttons pairable as rockers; module fills one frame position (DIN 49073 box) and is completed with a separate button cover kit (..502 / ..504 TSA, finish-dependent).
  • Verified capabilities: two independent controller circuits; heating+cooling with auto changeover and additional stages; fan control auto + manual levels (up to 8); wired external NTC probe input (FF NTC, cable up to 50 m); native underfloor-heating temperature limit; alarm function with button acknowledge; RGB status LEDs with night reduction via bus object; display pages incl. up to 3 "any temperature" bus values (e.g. floor probe).
  • RC button policy (decided): minimal climate footprint — climate claims only the setpoint + / − pair (the single-press daily gesture); mode, AC-fan override, and temperature views live in the RC's built-in select/adjust menu (entered by pressing the top two buttons together; ETS-trimmed to the wanted items); no dedicated mode or fan buttons anywhere (fan policy).
  • Gang count per room by scene-slot demand — 2-gang = setpoint pair + 2 slots, 4-gang = setpoint pair + 6 slots (the display RC exists only as 2- or 4-gang); slots = Scene-TBD per the scene policy; decided room by room in the positions register.
  • Engraving/labeling options for F 50 button sets: to verify (F 40 engraving is confirmed).

F 40 push-buttons

Non-RC, 429x 1ST + TSEM extensions — lights / curtains / blinds and some local scenes at secondary positions. Big engraved full-surface buttons, up to 3 functions each (two pressure points + full-surface); red status LEDs (no RGB), night brightness reduction, alarm flash.

Covered exterior push-buttons

The standard F 40 is not selected for covered exterior positions: JUNG does not document the LS 429x 1ST as suitable for outdoor exposure. The BBQ-zone counter controls are sheltered from all rain, but retain an IP44 requirement because they sit at an outdoor-kitchen counter near a sink and are subject to splashes and cleaning. The physical envelope is limited to one or two standard frame positions, each roughly one F 40 module in size. Device / mounting candidates: Jung WG 800 — surface-mounted, purpose-built IP44 weatherproof push-buttons; Jung LS 990 — flush-mounted with the required IP44 sealing components, exact push-button insert/cover/frame combination to verify; dense native IP44 KNX push-button solutions from other manufacturers should also be considered. A potential compact, scenario-led control shape is recorded only as an example in the BBQ position entry, not as approved scenes or a final map; full per-group lighting control is not a requirement. Final product, mounting form, capacity within the two-position limit, control concept, and lighting grouping are TBD with the contractor. Conventional floating-contact push-buttons require a KNX push-button interface in a dry protected location; the exact interface, location, and cable route remain TBD.

LS Touch floor hubs

2× LS Touch — one per floor: cross-zone climate overview and occasional adjustment, wet-room floor setpoints, shading/ventilation supervisory pages, whole-floor/house scenes. Hubs are UI only — all control loops stay distributed (room devices / heating actuator channels).

  • Verified capabilities (Jung product page, LS 459 D 1S): integrated room temperature sensor, room-temperature control with setpoint adjustment, FF NTC external probe input, alarm function, proximity + brightness sensors, up to 32 functions; not confirmed: a second independent controller circuit or a native underfloor limit (the F 50's strengths).
  • Ground-floor hub: decided — kitchen 2.1, back-to-back with living-room 3.2 through the shared wall (host room = kitchen); the living room is covered by an F 50 RC at its 3.2 position instead.
  • First-floor hub: decided — corridor 10.1 (stairs cluster, east wall; host room corridor).

Mounting heights

Mounting-height convention: all quoted heights are centerlines above finished floor unless explicitly stated otherwise; for a vertical stack, the quoted height is the centerline of its topmost position.

Principle (decided): two dedicated heights — a thermostat height for climate units (F 50 RC, LS Touch) and a switch height for push-button units; satellite/announcer provisions at switch level (voice owns the two terms).

  • Specific values: TBD — parked until discussed with the designer — 150 cm (thermostat; Jung-recommended RC height) / 105 cm (switch) is one candidate pair. Kitchen 2.3 is a decided local exception: its F 50 alone sits lower because a decorative border conflicts with the potential 150 cm center; exact height TBD with the designer. This does not move the ground-floor LS Touch or change the eventual house-wide thermostat height.
  • Diagram shorthand: position diagrams mark these heights as "upper row" (= thermostat height) and "lower row" (= switch height); this section is the single source of truth for their meaning and candidate values.
  • Climate devices carry no light/blind controls — climate and lighting vocabularies stay on separate units at separate heights.

Frame alignment

Decided: vertical stacks, top-aligned — topmost position center at the switch height, frames grow downward (71 mm pitch → with the 105 cm candidate, positions at ~105/98/91 cm).

  • Module order top→bottom: interior lights first (most-used at the fixed height), then street/mechanics, satellite/announcer provisions last.
  • Horizontal rows (all modules at the switch height) remain a per-position option where the wall suits it — order convention then: most-used nearest the door jamb; width check vs. trim required (~223 mm for 3 positions).
  • Within one frame, extra buttons come as TSEM extension modules (no own bus coupler, cheap); a separate bus-coupled device only at physically separate positions.

Scene vocabulary

Decided: approved scenes = Leave / Arrive only (the House button at living-room 3.1). Every other scene slot in button maps is a Scene-TBD placeholder until its scene is approved; no slap scenes at 3.1; scene-store (slap-hold / long-press save) stays disabled unless deliberately enabled per position.

Shortlist (not final): LS 990 metal, LS 990 Les Couleurs Le Corbusier, LS ZERO. Note: LS ZERO requires special installation boxes — must be decided before wall closing.
